Medigap

A brief introduction to Medigap coverage.

Medigap is a private supplemental insurance policy that helps to cover some of the costs that the Original Medicare Plan doesn’t cover.

Medigap has 10 standard plans labeled Plan “A” through Plan “J” that offer different sets of benefits. In addition, some states like Massachusetts, Minnesota, and Wisconsin have additional plans as well. To investigate the plans offered in your loved one’s area, go to www.medicare.gov and click on “Medigap compare”, or contact his or her State Insurance Department. (Contact information provided in the “Private Insurance” section of our Library.)
